Note on two new projects

Some moments stretch out in stillness. Others carry a faint gesture — a pull toward something not yet fully visible. This month’s note rests between the two.

Two projects are starting to take shape, each offering a distinct perspective on what surrounds us.

Fjords and Fragments is a portrait of the Arctic town of Bodø, seen not in grand views but in small parts — details, textures, and overlooked edges. It asks how a place becomes whole through what is often missed. The city appears in pieces.

The second project moves in the opposite direction. It removes all that is recognisable from the frame. No landmarks. No instructions. Just a place — quiet, anonymous — that you might choose to find for yourself. A soft refusal of the guidebook image. An echo of quiet resistance.

Both are at their beginning. One has a name and will unfold slowly. The other is still a thought — a possible mini-series. But they are in motion.

A Photography Practice to Try

One Colour, One Hour

Choose a single colour. Any colour — something you notice in your surroundings today. Then give yourself one hour to photograph only that.

No exceptions, no distractions. Walk slowly. Look for it in unexpected places: painted walls, reflected light, worn clothing. Let the colour guide your attention.

Limiting the frame this way is not about aesthetic harmony — it is about presence. This quiet constraint sharpens your eyes to notice not just things, but patterns, repetition, and mood.

At the end, you may have only one or two images. That is enough. The point is not what you make, but how you see.
